The International Code Council (ICC) is an international organization dedicated to codes of building safety, fire protection, and energy efficiency. Its specifications are used for all types of commercial and civil buildings. Many countries around the world, including the United States, adopt the international codes and building safety regulations formulated by the council. The US Department of Defense's military facilities, including military buildings, also refer to this specification. The council is committed to the promotion of green buildings, and advocates green buildings in various aspects such as legislation, regulations and specifications, and has launched a number of international codes.
